Founded in 1959, Al Anwar is one of the leading newspapers in Lebanon.

Al Anwar is published by Dar Assayad, one of the largest publishing houses in the Arab world.

Al Anwar is an independent newspaper committed to aggressive reporting and good writing. That may not please
everyone in the Middle East, but it surely is our definition of journalism.

During Lebanon's civil strife we were bombed, bombarded, and shot at by all sides because of ourbelief in peace
and a united Lebanon. Although the war ended in 1990, freedoms that Lebanon enjoyed before the war started in
1975 are not yet respected. Al Anwar, however, is still determined in its pursuit of
the truth and the accuracy of
its stories.

Al Anwar Fax is the first Arabic newspaper to be published on the Internet, in September 1995. Our Internet
edition is a free service for the large and successful Lebanese & Arab communities living all over the world.
